When I first heard about sales I thought it was to good to be true-I couldnīt believe that you could make $500 in just one day!
It was April of 2002 and I was working 40-50 hours a week doing construction in Pheonix Arizona. The most I had ever made in a week was about $500, but I had to
trade a lot of blood (blisters), sweat (100+ days) and tears (donīt ask) for that $500. I didnīt care how hard that day was or even if I had to work for 16 hours to make $500 it couldnīt be as hard as working for a whole week for $500.
And so I became a salesman. I started out with a little over $50 in my pocket, $300 in my savings acount, a full tank of gas, and a burned bridge with
my old boss. I went to Ogden Utah for 3 days of training, and then all pumped up I drove almost
nonstop to St. Louis Missouri. After being in Missouri for 10 days my gas tank was empty, all my cash and my savings was gone and I was in debt several hundred dollars to the company I was working for because they advanced me money out of future commission checks. This was an act of faith on their part because even though I was working 10-16 hour days 6
days a week I had not made a single sale.
It was a challenging, but exchilarating summer. I had to sleep in my car many nights, other nights I slept in friendly peoples tree houses. Occasionally I would feel comfortable enough with someone to ask if I could use their shower--talk about adventure!!! I also made
$500 dollars several days that summer; I ended up making about $10,500 that summer. I loved that nobody was limiting my income but me.
I lived and played on that money for eight months and then when I started running out of money I found Bulwark.
Just like I thought my first sales job was to good to be true when compared to construction I also couldnt believe how much better the opportunity was with Bulwark. Not only was there about 3X as much money to be made, but there was also a lot less adventure:
I have been with Bulwark for 3 summers, and I am now staying with Bulwark because it is right for me. A few of the benefits I have received in the last three years are:
(1) I payed off my car in 18 months, not 60.
(2) I pay cash for my school, so I donīt have to graduate with debt.
(3) My wife can stay home and be a mother.
(4) I still have money to put aside for saving and investing. (Not a bad financial picture especially when I only work for 4 months out of 12 months).
(5) I have been able to grow by being a team leader for 2 years. Itīs fun to help other people change the course of their life.
(6) I have been able to receive training and mentoring from the Seevers, who are the best in the world at what they do.
I am learning the principles of success which will carry over to everything I now do and everything I will ever do. I believe that if you can rise to the top in sales, you can be successful at just about anything you put your mind to.
It sounds cheesy, but its true: sales, and especially sales, with Bulwark has changed my life. Bulwark is not only interested in using you to grow their business, they are also interested in using their business to grow you as a person so that you can accomplish whatever you were born to do. I believe we all have a purpose to fulfill in this life, and Bulwark can give you many of the tools and confidence that you need to fulfill your unique purpose.
